I love this place! It isn’t just a plant shopping destination, it’s a relaxing and informative break in your day. All they need now is a cafe or barista station to complete this reprieve from the rat race. There’s a wide range of seeds, as well as indoor and outdoor plants, fertilizers and ornamental pots, plus all kinds of products other garden centers don’t carry, such as pond accessories, bags of bat guano or containers of helpful lady bugs or earthworms. You can even have them identify what’s bothering your plant at home. Remember to pick up your Edible San Diego magazine on your way out. 🙂

This nursery has so many different types of plants, I love coming here to find new varieties of tomatoes to try out that you can’t find anywhere else in North County. They even have awesome driftwood to purchase, from small to extra large ones. I’ve never left empty-handed from this place.

I really love this place. I feel like I'm walking into an oasis. I usually stay for quite a while! Everyone here is very helpful, informative and knowledgeable and friendly. I always find really good quality Items and I buy all of my soil and compost here, it's more specialty and works great for my potted plants and my inground plants.

I am a newcomer to gardening in SOCAL. I had a beautiful garden in NY, but this zone is completely different. I find Green Thumb to be very helpful. The staff is knowledgeable, the stock is plentiful, and the prices are the best around. I look forward to learning all about this new climate and gardening here with Green Thumb’s help.

I love green thumb! I get help from the associates when I am buying a new plant. I have gotten advice on soil, fertilizer and amounts of sun for my plants. The center is organized and inspiring. My yard has looked more amazing over the years from my patronage at Green Thumb!

Green Thumb Nursery has some of the best selection of native plants in the area. If you want to provide a great yard for local pollinators I suggest you look into Green Thumb Nursery. Their staff is very helpful showing you around and providing tips. They also are a great source if you want native Milkweed for Monarchs. Check them out if you haven’t already.

From the moment my wife and I walked into The Green Thumb, it was love at first sight! We were referred to the nursery by our next door neighbor who has been assisting me in the creation of a tea garden for my wife. He mentioned how happy he was with his new house plants and how after 6-months time they were still growing and beautiful. The usual big-name garden centers, while convenient in some respects, always seemed a little shy on variety. I was looking for something more esoteric and unique to complement the garden’s layout. With mountains of colorful Talavera pottery at far and away at the most reasonable prices, I went a bit nuts! The huge selection of planting containers in every color, also for prices so low it made me wonder why I had been paying up to three times more elsewhere, had me hooked. I had really only intended to purchase a container or two once we got there. But I ended up walking away with several pots plus some extraordinary high quality perennials that I thought at first were mislabeled because the prices listed were so low! As far as I’m concerned, the Green Thumb is now my everything garden center. And let me wrap it up with this: the staff was exceptionally helpful and professional. I trusted them with all my questions.

You can go to home Depot and buy one plant for 6 to 8 bucks or you can go to Green thumb and get a six pack for $4.99. no brainer. This is my go-to nursery. And the staff is also always so friendly. They always have a great variety and there are a lot of fun statues as well.

Bought 2 Zucchini plants and other veggies from you last Friday.Today bugs had completely eaten the plant. Leaves and stems reduced to ooze. I thinks the buds came from you. It was just the zucchini

Absolutely love this nursery. It is my happy place! They have a great selection of plants, several buildings with gifts, seeds, plant food, and garden soil additives. Just everything you could want for any kind of gardening or decorating in your yard. They also offer an informative newsletter if you join their email list which comes with useful information, what’s on sale for the week, and a coupon to apply to an order should you go. Much better than going to a “big box store.” The plants are better quality, there is more selection and you’re supporting a local business – not some corporate chain.

Cassie, the manager, was smoking a cigarette in the shopping area. When I asked to talk with a manager, she was the manager. I voiced concern about having to breathe her cigarette smoke, and she laughed at me. I questioned if it was legal to smoke in a retail store in California, and she said she didn't know. I pointed out as a customer I and my dog had to breathe it while shopping, and she laughed in my face again. I asked her if it was funny, And she just smiled. Not once did she apologize or show any understanding.After spending some time still picking out plants from there, on my way to the register area, she glared at me for a good 5 seconds until I said "hello," and she then looked away. Horrible service.Update: I visited again yesterday and needed help w an unmarked plant. I approached a group of employees and as I did so, I noticed Cassie was staring at me while I approached. She then said to her co worker "I'm not dealing with that" and made a face at me and turned away. Another guy tried helping me, but wound up coming back to ask her for help anyway. Her bad attitude and immaturity persists and she is continuing to make paying customers feel unwelcome. I'm amazed someone in a managerial role can act like her.

Really love this nursery. It is such an experience, and you can easily spend an hour just looking through everything. Parking is easy to find, staff is friendly and available. Make sure to sign up to receive their coupons by text and email.It is almost impossible to come to Green Thumb, and not find something you can use in your garden, for decorating your home or landscaping areas. Everything you need for planting, growing, updating your space. They have a great selection of pottery, fountains, figurines, and that's just the beginning....If you have a special occasion, anything to celebrate it all, you will find everything you could possibly want here - when it comes to unique gifts and whimsical decor. Gnomes, bird houses, butterflies, hanging items, wind chimes, holiday collections, kitchen, religious items, that special something that you have not found elsewhere.There are also a wide range of garden supplies, fresh orchids, exotic succulents, landscape plants, flowers, strawberries, rose bushes, fruit trees, fire pits, hats, gardening gloves, bird feeders, etc.Children will also enjoy exploring the site, finding the unique figurines, animals and other unexpected creatures throughout the nursery. Just be sure to accompany your little ones, as there are breakable items that are not for small hands, in some areas.I look forward to visiting again, especially as Springtime approaches, and the selection at this wonderful location comes to life even more. ????

I love the inventory at Green Thumb; they pretty much always have what I'm looking for. I did not give them five stars because some of them markups seem unreasonable to me to say the least. Like $25 for a molded plastic watering can that probably cost less than a dollar in materials and labor in China.That said, staff is always helpful and friendly.

I love this place!The selection and quality of the plants and garden essentials can’t be beat. The prices are fairly competitive too. There is a special section for native California plants. They have rare specimens plants there. The mini plants for $2.99 are super nice.Everything is well labeled with price and care, instructions. The people that work there are knowledgable, friendly and helpful. They are well staffed, and I rarely had to wait for service.Tip: Get the six packs of vegetables and flowers for around $4.99.Green thumb nursery is worth the drive. I recommend looking at traffic patterns nearby and possibly going around it. Plan to go on a weekend or time, earlier in the day, when there’s no traffic.

Service was very good. I was help my an older gentleman he Explain how to plant ice plant and how many plants I would get in a tray he was very informative. When I left I asked the cashier if Green Thumb Offer senior discount. I was told from the young cashier that was not an option. That there was a 20% coupon for one plant..

We have purchased items here before, even large items like a fountain, but a floor model, but this time, we needed assistance in ordering another fountain. Mary was very helpful; she answered questions, did research, and played phone tag with us. We are very happy with the entire order process! And, of course, the center is laid out beautifully and what a selection, especially of large garden pots!

I have been gardening, flowers, fruit, trees, veggies, most of my life but was recently forced to move to an assisted living facility in another area. I discovered the San Marcos Green Thumb nursery and WOW! Not only is it gorgeous and filled with beautiful plants and friendly, helpful people, but experts are readily available to help. Thanks to them i am happily growing tomatoes on my small but sunny balcony and veggies in the facility’s raised planting bed. I love this nursery!

I love Green Thumb Nursery. Every time I go in there I love to wander around and look at all the beautiful plants and pots and everything else that they have. They have such a beautiful selection but above all, their staff is so knowledgeable about all plants. I have taken pictures in there before to show them and they help me with any problems that I have with a plant or with some thing that I’m looking for in particular. They even help you load your car if you need it. Excellent customer service. This place is really a gem in San Marcos.
